We stayed two nights during the fall foliage season, and it was all that we could have imagined. The lodge owners were extremely accommodating to our varied dining requirements (one vegan, one vegetarian and one dairy free). The breakfasts were extraordinarily good! The bed linens were great, and added to the very restful sleep. I would return again, again and again! Asheville has a fabulous vegan restaurant--Laughing Seed. I am not vegan, but the food was scrumptious!

Dining is an important part of Bent Creek Lodge, to us and our guests.

In fact, the story of the lodge begins when Jodee quit her corporate job to pursue a Culinary Arts Degree. After graduating she worked as a private chef, on the line at a couple of local restaurants and as an award winning teacher in the Culinary program at AB Tech. She now puts her talents to work not only preparing our delicious breakfasts and afternoon treats but also catering gourmet meals here for special occasions.

Cookies and dessertAfternoon treats, often your first taste of Jodee’s fresh baking, await your arrival on the dining room bar along with a variety of beverages in the guest refrigerators. Some of the guests’ favorites are Reverse Chocolate Chip Cookies, Pistachio Tarts, Cranberry Pecan Bars and Best-ever Brownies. (I once witnessed a guest eat nearly a dozen before his wife pulled him away)

Breakfast will soon be on its way when you catch the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, available by 6:30am. Each morning we serve a full, hot, gourmet breakfast starting at 8:30 till 9:00. Breakfast always includes a selection of coffee and teas, seasonal fruit, and fresh juice. On a weekend you might start Saturday with a Frittata filled with veggies and cheese, Whole Wheat Scones, Home Fries, and Local Trout Cakes and on Sunday enjoy our “Always Crispy Blueberry Waffles”, Homemade Granola with Yogurt, and Apple Smoked Sausage. Jodee’s pledge is, “stay as long as you like and never have the same thing twice.”

Special dietary requirements or schedules are not a problem. We will gladly create a tasty alternative for any diet from vegan to glucose intolerance. If you are starting out early we can offer you an early breakfast option that includes muffins or scones, yogurt and fruit, and our homemade granola, cereal or hot oatmeal. Please be sure to let us know of any requirements at check-in.

An Evening of Fine Dining, here at the lodge, is one of the most memorable experiences for our groups of 10 guests or more. The lodge’s casual atmosphere, our personal service, the fireplace, exquisitely set tables all complimenting the beautifully presented and delicious meals create an evening few restaurants can match. And here you don’t have to drive home!!

Eat in KitchenGroups can choose each menu item from options Jodee prepares or give her a little direction and let her take it from there. I don’t think anyone has ever been disappointed. Dinners are ideal when your group has reserved the entire lodge. Midweek and during off seasons we may be able to accommodate smaller groups. Lunches & Meeting Room Set Ups – We often cater lunches for working retreats here at the lodge. Our downstairs sitting room with French doors from the hall, works great as a meeting room for groups of 10-15. Some groups like the casual seating as it is and for others we set up the room with our folding tables and office chairs. Meeting room reservations include coffee service and snacks.
